The Joshua Project

Read the entirety of the Book of Joshua in chunks with a partner (preferably).

Let these questions be your guide as you read through the Book of Joshua:

1. Construct a “persuade-able” argument on the importance of the allotment of the land in Joshua 13-21 to the overall structure of the Bible (First & Second Testament)
2. Repeatedly, Joshua’s deeds reflect Moses. Find as many references in the Book of Deuteronomy as possible that are found in the Book of Joshua and show how this highlights the topic of leadership.
3. Explore the theme of peace-making in the Book of Joshua in light of the command to devote to destruction the “ites” in the land.
4. Locate important repeated phrases in the Book of Joshua (ie. be strong and courageous) and show why it is significant to the Book of Joshua and us today.
5. Compare and contrast the ending of the Book of Joshua (chapters 23-24) and three major themes earlier and the way to relates to your church fellowship.
6. Show the numerous threats to the faith of Israel and its contemporary significance for the church today.
