YWCA Toronto is a strong advocate for women and girls, providing transformative services in the areas of employment support and training, housing options and shelters, leadership development programs for girls and key supports for women and children who have experienced violence.
The money raised will go towards the renovation of their 1st Stop Woodlawn Women’s Shelter. This shelter is a residential community of women in Rosedale. This historic building provides 72 private rental rooms for long-term accommodation. The building also houses a shelter for women and transitional housing for women who require additional support. Local businesses and organizations are joining together to raise funds to re-design a part of the grim, dysfunctional and outdated shared spaces at this location, to become more warm, inviting and suitable for the women’s use.

This year's Fresh Attitude Showing Trust, Redeemer will be going through the book of Micah! Though not as well known as other books of the Bible, the Minor Prophets contain rich insight into the character of God and vivid truths about His faithfulness to His people. God spoke through His prophets to call out sin, to declare His holy judgement against evil, and to make clear our desperate need for a Saviour. Micah prophesied during the reigns of the Judean kings Jotham (750–735 B.C.), Ahaz (735–715), and Hezekiah (715–687). Micah announces that God's justice is coming in order to create a new future of love and faithfulness on the other side of Israel's sin and exile. Much of Micah’s book revolves around two significant predictions: one of judgement on Israel and Judah (Micah 1:1–3:12), the other of the restoration of God’s people in the kingdom (4:1–5:15). Rather than leave God’s people with the fear and sting of judgement, the book of Micah concludes with the prophet’s call on the Lord as his only source of salvation and mercy (7:7). The hope is that in our journey through this book together, we too will learn to cling onto Christ alone as our salvation and restoration.

Below is the schedule for our duration from February 18 leading up to Easter weekend. Each day has a reading with a title that relates to the passage. We will be going through the book of Nehemiah this year. I encourage you to read daily and even write your thoughts and prayers you have to the Lord. This year we will give up one item for forty days and have weekly items to fast from as listed below. Find an accountability partner who can aid you along and vice versa. Pray for one another daily. Encourage each other to pursue God and His Kingdom. May the Lord Jesus Himself walk with you over these forty days and forty nights and may you find His grace to be sufficient for your every need.
