The Selfish Giant is an interesting story depicting the symbolism of the marriage between Jesus Christ and humanity. It shows the metamorphosis of a very grouchy giant that likes to keep things to himself, to a very caring and loving giant that has the intent to share his wealth with the children. This story reminds us of our very selfish condition, but gives us the hope that we are yet to be reborn into a new and loving version of ourselves thanks to the grace of God.
F.A.S.T. is an acronym that stands for Fresh Attitude Showing Trust. These 40 days in the church calender can be easily misunderstood as a time for self improvement and breaking from the things that you rely too heavily on. The actual truth behind the F.A.S.T. is that it's a time to strengthen your relationship with God, and to realize how much you need His salvation and mercy. This is because you did not abandon those false idols just for the sake of binging on them again, but it's really to show that your entire being belongs to God. -Edward
